A few customers have noticed some new options and modules in our Billing Control Panel.
Since Dedi.NET dedicated servers are self-managed, these options and modules allow customers more control and freedom with their dedicated server.
For dedicated servers with IPMI, we’ve integrated IPMI with the control panel. Once you log into the Portal, you have remote console access and detailed information on cpu temperature, fan speeds, and server power voltage. To view the console, you’ll need to have the latest Oracle’s Java JVM installed. With older versions of Java, you’ll get warning messages and most often, the connection will fail. With the IPMI module, you’ll also have power control settings as well to power on/off and reset the server.
We’ve added a module to display the Interface Speed and Duplex so customers can troubleshoot and modify their speed/duplex to get optimum speeds.
Lastly, we’ve added a Null-route feature so that customers can selectively blackhole traffic to various ips. This can be very useful for customers with DDOS attacks, abuse issues, or resellers looking to get the attention of their customers.
A module in beta testing is our remote OS reinstall feature. This will allow a customer to click a button, select an operating system, and sit back and have our systems reinstall the operating sytem on their dedicated server. Currently, CentOS is available, but Debian/Ubuntu are in the works with Windows coming soon!
